Resilience for the global textile industry: Heimtextil 2025 records visitor increase and showcased future interior design

Heimtextil 2025 ended with full exhibition halls, 142 participating nations, another increase in exhibitors and visitors as well as with top satisfaction ratings. Over four days, more than 50,000 buyers experienced the latest collections, materials and textile solutions for the entire interior design at first hand from over 3,000 exhibitors. The Heimtextil Trends 25/26 by Alcova Milano and the installation ‘among-us’ by star designer Patricia Urquiola set new standards for interior design, retail and hospitality. The content programme centered on AI-driven design, sustainable production processes and future interiors.

For Heimtextil 2025, Patricia Urquiola presents among-us, a 650 m² design installation in the heart of Hall 12.0. The open-plan installation creates a welcoming atmosphere in which to experience textile concepts and to spark a conversation about design, sustainability and conviviality. Together with partners such as Kettal, Moroso, cc-tapis, Aquafil, Cimento® and Parà Tempotest, Urquiola has developed extraordinary spatial elements for among-us – including double-sided hanging carpet structures, lounge islands and individually manufactured seating furniture.

Heimtextil University Contest 2025 attracts creative young talents - innovative solutions for the future

The winners of the Heimtextil University Contest 2025 have been announced: Kateryna Basiuk, Eszter Nagy and Birke-Katharina Weber impressed with their clever textile solutions on the topics of light, sound protection and colour. In 2025, the contest received around twice as many submissions as last year. The selected projects can be seen at the world's largest trade fair for home and contract textiles from 14 to 17 January 2025 in Frankfurt.

New contacts with decision-makers, global business opportunities and worldwide streams of visitors: Heimtextil 2024 ended with 46,000 visitors from around 130 nations and 2,838 exhibitors from 60 nations with 25 per cent growth. With a plus in visitors, the show overcame difficult travel conditions due to nationwide rail strikes and regional demonstrations. The response from international buyers to the quality and variety of the new Carpets & Rugs product segment was overwhelming. In numerous talks, tours and workshops, Heimtextil as well focused on two of the most important key topics of the coming decades: sustainable production and action as well as artificial intelligence. The global carpet industry is on the move - in the direction of Frankfurt. Change of management at Heimtextil: Margit Herberth becomes new director of the household textiles segment

Change of personnel at Heimtextil: Margit Herberth will be responsible for the household textiles segment of Heimtextil as director from 1 September 2023 and, together with Bettina Bär, will form the new dual leadership of the leading trade fair for home and contract textiles. Herberth, previously Director Marketing Consumer Goods / Multimedia & Data at Messe Frankfurt, succeeds Meike Kern, who is leaving the company of her own volition after 22 years to take on a new professional challenge.

Outstanding start in January: Heimtextil 2023 ends with great internationality and sets the course for sustainable transformation

Streams of visitors from all over the world, intensive business encounters with top international decision-makers, an overwhelmingly positive atmosphere and inspiration as far as the eye can see: With 44,000 visitors and 2,400 exhibitors together from 129 nations, the global textile industry was guest in Frankfurt for four days at Heimtextil 2023 and filled the exhibition halls. In numerous workshops, tours, lectures and networking formats, buyers also explored circular approaches, the important role of certificates and new applications for textile materials - and thus experienced wholly integrated sustainability at Heimtextil.
