Based in Mantova, Italy, Mushaboom Design focuses on innovation and sustainability through the creation of luxury textiles and wall coverings made from renewable, natural, recycled and recyclable materials. The company draws its inspiration from subjects ranging from urban sophistication to natural beauty observed throughout the world and brings them together through sketching, photography, painting, collage, and digital painting. Creative Director and Owner Barry Roode earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a Master of Fine Arts from the Statens Høgskole i Kunsthåndverk og Design (‘State School of Art and Design”), in Bergen, Norway.

His work has been exhibited at international events and venues including: Tortona Design Week and Futura Projects, both at Fuori Salone in Milan, Maison et Objet in Paris, ID in Toronto, Decosit in Brussels, Belgium, and Neocon in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
