About us

Traditional values - innovative products

With about 1,200 employees and over 90 years of experience in the development and manufacture of privacy, sun and insect protection, MHZ Hachtel GmbH & Co. KG is one of the market leaders in Germany. The recipe for success of the independent family business from near Stuttgart: solid craftsmanship combined with forward-looking ideas and a large portion of attention to detail. This is also reflected in MHZ's products. They have always stood for innovation, quality, sustainability and aesthetically sophisticated design.

The manufacturer's portfolio includes customised solutions for indoor and outdoor use. Pleated blinds and energy-efficient honeycomb blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical and panel blinds, roller and Roman blinds, curtain rods and rails as well as the SQUID® adhesive textile offer a wide range of options for the interior. From the outside, awnings, zip screens, the patented Solix outdoor roller blind and other shading solutions ensure optimum light and pleasant room temperatures. The products of the MHZ insect screen line protect doors, windows and light wells almost invisibly from mosquitoes, spiders and other uninvited guests.

With almost 100 sales representatives and a strong office team, MHZ stands for individual customer care and personal advice. Extensive services round off the range of products offered by the sun protection experts.

The company was founded in 1930 by Wilhelm Hachtel senior and his partner Adolf Stäbler. Their first product idea, the Mechanischer Hachtel-Zug (Hachtel-Mechanical-Pull) gave the company its current name, MHZ. Although the product did not catch on, this was the initial spark for a brand that later established itself successfully in the market and is now associated with innovation and progress. The MHZ rail developed by Wilhelm Hachtel senior at the end of the fifties was a great success and meant the breakthrough for MHZ as a supplier of modern decorative elements. Last but not least, it enabled MHZ to grow and expand beyond Germany's borders.

Today, the group of companies is led by the managing directors Andreas Kopetschny, Marcus Meyer and Marc Horn.
