The moisture regain of polypropylene fibers is so small as to be insignificant, and water has almost no effect on tensile strength, nor does it cause any noticeable degradation in the fibers.

Light Weight – The density of polypropylene is quite low (0.91 g/cc), compared to other synthetic, polyester (PET) for instance (1.38 g/cc). The diameter of PP fiber is therefore proportionally higher than the polyester fiber of the same denier. As a result, thicker and bulkier Rugs are made with PP, for a given count of yarn and area density.
