Established in June 2021 Egyptian Cotton Hub Company (ECH) to be the sole sales and marketing arm for all the state owned textile companies of Egypt with the major shareholder being the Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Company (CTIHC).
The Cotton & Textile Industries Holding company is a state owned entity that has 30 subsidiary companies/ factories that cover the whole span from cotton ginning to garments and home textiles. Recently the Egyptian government decided to modernize and restructure the whole sector investing in man, machine and strategy as follows: -
E.C.H. is the sole sales and marketing arm for all the state-owned textile sector companies in Egypt ( 9 full vertically integrated factories) covering the whole span of textile products.
We produce yarn, fabrics, and a product line of hotel textiles produced specially for hotel chains from both Egyptian and non-Egyptian cotton, linen, terry, and F&B textiles for hospitality.
Our businesses specialized in the manufacture of cotton in all its forms—spinning, weaving, and completed high-end goods. We have a diverse range of items, including the following :
- Branded productions (ECH owns the NIT brand): NIT is a line of home textiles made at our factories from 100% certified Egyptian cotton and designed in Italy.
- Yarn, textiles (100 % EG-cotton, non-EG-cotton, and mixed).
- Linen, terry, and food-and-beverage textiles for home and hotel use.

The restructuring:
Price Water House Coopers harmonized the restructuring mergers and acquisitions to bring the companies from 30 affiliated companies nationwide to only 9 major merged industrial centers in Mehalla, Kafr Eldawar, Helwan, Dakahleya, Shebin ElKom, Upper Egypt, Damietta, Cotton Ginning, Misr Rayon.
The infrastructure:
550 Mn. USD being spent on the construction of new buildings and up to date machinery from spinning, weaving, dyeing - finishing and confection.
The machinery:
Utilizing 100% Egyptian Cotton Giza 95,86,94,92 and 96 for all yarn counts ranging from 10 Ne compact to 180 Ne compact. 700 Mn.USD spent on contracting state of the art machinery.
Reiter, Marzoli and Savio for spinning and winding. The new production Lines consist of Reiter C70 carding machines, E85 combers, F16 roving frames Reiter crowned by the up to date K-47 ring spinning frames controlled by air cleanliness, automatic material transport system linked to Savio polar winders equipped with twin splicers, foreign matter and PP detectors and loepfe cleaners to ensure the lowest possible contamination. The yarn testing laboratory has an Uster tester 5, Uster afis, and Uster classimat.
The compilation of Itema, Picanol and Toyota for weaving combines the strengths of 3 major loom manufacturers. The Itema R9500 considered the most versatile rapier machine which starts within 1 pick to full speed. equipped with the winning combination of the SK Weft Transfer System and the Motorized Weft Cutter, that together ensure the highest production speed and the possibility to effectively weave the widest range of yarns. The Picanol OMNIplus Summum looms feature the patent fully automated pick finding and dedicated sley cam versions that make it possible to weave the most demanding weaves and yarns at high speeds with lower energy consumption. The Toyota air jet looms feature EDP high performance motors, JATeReed for low pressure weft insertion and multi tandem nozzle to increase propulsion power for high speed application.
Bruckner, Benninger, Thies and Monforts for dyeing and finishing. Wide width rotary and digital printing from Reggianie; In a parallel line, the latest ERP systems and SAP integration system has been contracted for.
Building strong Caliban in leadership team and hiring CEO’s of the production facilities are from private sector backgrounds (multinationals and investment banking companies) are being hired to manage the new factories; the hiring process and the administrative structure is subcontracted to Job Master Intl’.

The team was hired from the private sector with a combined experience of over 100 years of experience.
The targeted capacities: The restructuring plan is targeting the ultimate capacity at year 4, with regards to bedding and towels products, of 7.8 Mn. Sets of bed sheets and covers and 8.5 Mn. Pieces of towels (a detailed projected capacities plan by product is available upon your request).
The new branding and image: The Holding company commercial team had hired an Italian Design house that delivered a full range of seasonal bedding, towels, bath robes, throws and cushions designs for our luxury home textiles collection. The team also hired a well renowned creative agency that will change the branding of all companies and products from the inside out; in collaboration with the Italian design house, the agency is starting with the New nit brand for product lines targeting various market segments. The agency also will restructure the retail shops owned by all the companies to highlight the new brand and products.
Second, regarding the time span, it is set that by Q3 2022 most of the new premises will be up and running.
Third, kindly note that all of the above companies are running with their existing machinery that can fulfil your requirements from bed sheets in 20x20,60x60 bed sheets in addition to TCs 200 to 400 percale and sateen and sateen stripes from all widths in any color. In the towel line, our companies also produce towels in all GSM’s, twists and constructions Dobby and jacquard with soft finishes along with pool and beach towels and bath robes. Plus Table linens in different sizes and dobby designs such as Satin band
ECH will fulfil your requirements from all types cotton products starting from selling fine cotton yarns, bed sheets with various specification starting from 100 TC till 1000 in percale, sateen, sateen stripes, Dobby and jacquard from all widths in any color. In the towel line, all GSM’s, twists and constructions Dobby and jacquard with soft finishes along with pool and beach towels and bath robes Kitchen linen and towels, medical cotton, men’s shirts, uniforms, underwear, nightwear and homewear, for men, ladies and children and etc,.
