C&O was founded 25 years ago as a family business in Yecla (Murcia, Spain).
Alfredo Ortuño, current owner and manager director of the company, decided to take off his professional path specializing on the distribution of fabrics for the upholstery industry in 1988.
Since then, moving forward has been our mayor motivation.
The result of it is that C&O is an stablished company specialized on textile/fabrics, sofa-bed mechanisms, complements for the upholstery market and shoes, where our goal is to contribute with solutions for manufactures.
We work day by day with the mission of offering a wide variety of product references as well as a good quality-prize relationship for the customer and a short delivery time.
We are fully aware that each individual working at C&O provides a unique characteristic to the company, for which nowadays, we are proud of having an excited and pretty involved team, working on a common project.
For us, the importance of "JUST IN TIME" is a must and we firmly work to comply with it every day. We have our own fleet of vehicles available for national services, which make daily deliveries to different parts of the country. Besides that, external transport agencies cooperate with us for both national and international services.
SUSTAINBILITY
Environmentally friendly products and sustainability are our long-term commitment to a safer world. At present, all raw materials are recyclable, so they can be reused to produce new raw materials that will be used to develop new sustainable products. This is the reason why inappropriate solid wase disposal can be a major threat to the environments of developing countries so, here, at C&O, all plastic, cardboard bundles and textile waste are currently sent to proper recycling facilities.
C&O also takes part in RECOVO, a community of conscious consumers helping to improve sustainable practices where sustainability management empowers textile businesses to build responsible supply chains, guarantee transparency and brings this to the end consumer by selling unused textiles to reduce textile waste and extend the life of materials globally.
Moreover, it is well known that the rate of plastic production continues to increase non-stop. In 2019, 370 million tonnes of plastic were produced in the world and just 9,4 million tonnes were recycled. The problem is compounded by the fact that, depending on the type of plastic, it can take between 100 and 1000 years to degrade.
We must react to this environmental catastrophe and, apart from reusing the packaging, the solution is to recycle used plastic by converting it into yarn with which to weave the fabrics we offer in our line of recycled fabrics.
Fabrics made with a high percentage of these recycled plastic fibres have been processed with the latest technologies to achieve innovative, modern, colourful and textured products, with great added value for our customers and consumers.
Our collection SUNNY is an example of recycled fabrics C&O offers for a safer environment and an increasing circular economy.
