This machine has been developed for vacuum-packing pillows into polyethylene bags using tubular plastic film, in order to reduce their volume and facilitate their handling and transport.

The machine is composed by:

• a filling bag group with belts adjustable in height according to the pillow to be packed;
• a motorized unroller group, to adjust the unwinding of the plastic film. The carriage with the roll is assembled on wheels to ease the roll loading.
• a press group directly connected to the filling plastic bag machine, composed by:
• Top movable plate, actuated by two air cylinders. Max. opening 400mm.
• Bottom plate, it consists of a conveyor belt.
• Welding bar, to seal the head of the sack   It is possible to adjust the pressure on the pillow by using a proximity sensor which controls the press descent.

An electrical resistance is used for heating sealing bars and it is controlled by a thermocouple.

The machine can work either with neutral or printed plastic film.

Plain film: the size of the plastic bag is defined by the operator in the working recipe. Printed film: the measure of the bag is defined by a photoelectric cell that reads a specific colour printed on the film. The machine can also work with pillows manually packed by the operator. This equipment is operated by a PLC through a user-friendly touch screen panel.
