Silent Canvas – Exploring Acoustic Textiles through Biomorphic Design

The Bachelor project Silent Canvas investigates how recycled yarns can be used to create aesthetically pleasing and effectively cushioned, circular acoustic absorbers. The concept collection explores ways to enhance the visual qualities of such absorbers: inspired by the ultrasound-absorbing microstructures of moth wings, knitting serves as a core technique to replicate these natural structures using recycled materials.
This project addresses SDG 12.5, which focuses on reducing waste generation through reuse, and contributes to SDG 17 by fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The work is part of a project by the Product & Textile Research Group at HSLU Design Film Art.
