A success story woven from knot to knot…
What began in 1970 with two looms has grown into an international success story:Merinos – one of the world's largest manufacturers of machine-made carpets.
Founded by Mehmet Erdemoğlu, the company evolved into a machine-made carpet manufacturer in the 1980s and started its own yarn production in 1992. This move laid the foundation for a vertically integrated manufacturing process that has been continuously expanded to this day.
Merinos is one of the few carpet companies worldwide that bring all production steps – from polymer production to the finished product – under one roof. In our modern plants in Gaziantep, Çerkezköy and Uşak, we produce on 850,000 m² of covered space in four main areas: polyester chips, machine-made carpets, tufted carpets, and yarns.
With exports to more than 100 countries on five continents, Merinos ranks among Turkey’s Top 100 companies year after year. About 7% of the world’s machine-made carpet production comes from our plants.
Sustainability and innovation are central pillars of our work. In addition to ongoing research and design development, since 2021 we operate our own PET recycling plant to reintroduce industrial as well as used materials into the production cycle, thereby conserving resources.
In line with the values of our founder, we share our success with society and invest in technology, people, and a sustainable future.
