Lenzing is committed to establishing the circular economy. To support this commitment, it has developed and patented REFIBRA™ technology, which upcycles cotton textile scraps, mixing them with wood pulp from sustainably grown trees. The company uses its own environmentally responsible production process to convert these materials into high-quality TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™ fibres. The fibres currently feature up to 30% recycled raw material, and Lenzing aims to increase this to up to 50% of recycled post-consumer cotton textile waste in the next five years. TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™ fibres are of notably high quality. Unusually for fibres that contain recycled material, they are pure white. They are ideally suited as luxurious, cosy bed and bath textiles, and are biodegradable and compostable.
