Doppelhaus aims to bring about change by manufacturing non-woven textiles for the circular economy. Its Cloudwool® materials are by-products of sustainable and ethical sheep farming across Europe. Wool is rarely profitable for shepherds, but sheep still have to be shorn – and the wool is often burned or dumped. The versatile Cloudwool® fabric is produced with an innovative, patent-pending process that uses no chemicals. Cloudwool® can be recycled or composted at the end of its first life, in line with cradle to cradle approaches. Because it is manufactured close to source, the production chain is efficient, ecological and transparent. It also supports sheep farming, which can be carried out on poor quality land and improves soil quality and fertility.
