![]() My Lady was out at the cinema yesterday. Although she likes Renée Zellweger, she much prefers Grace Kelly on DVD. The glamour of Monte Carlo is in her soul and she loves flowery prints, plaster ornaments, ivory and rosewood furniture. A waft of Coco Chanel and Jacqueline Kennedy hangs in the air. While she pours a cup of coffee, her gaze is caught briefly by the Wedgwood cup and then wanders over the scene of Vienna pictured on the damask tablecloth. But let’s leave her in peace and breathe in the rest of the atmosphere. Here we find Napoleon and the Empire. Colours of cool pastel shades with lots of white and gold. Materials of silk, viscose, linen, fur, jacquard and lace are all around. Fabrics of plissee, ajouré, cloqué and chintz. Designs of fish scale, snakeskin, crocodile and turtle. Plus, tonight my lady is meeting her "Aristrocrat". |
