![]() Aristocrat is springing out of his armchair to put on the B-Side of his 1952 recording of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto. Today is his day and he can devote himself to all that he holds dear. The architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Gropius, the art of Sonja Delaunay and, not least, the collections of Paul Smith. The interior of his house is modelled on his favourites - refined, modern and functional and constructed from a wide variety of woods, metals and natural stone tastefully combined with concrete and glass. Heavily tinted intense colours combine with iron, bronze and brass. His favourite materials are flannel, suede, corduroy, lambs’ wool, cashmere, moleskin, velvet and leather. He’s also fond of striped and textured wallpaper, floor coverings with ornamental patterns and textured blinds with stripes or check-inspired designs. And tomorrow he’s going for a drink with the Rebel. |
