COIMBATORE, India—Vijayeswari Textiles Ltd. has made a name for itself in the international market supplying superior quality cotton bed linen and accessories.
Vijayeswari Textiles, known as VTX, was established in 1954 as a yarn manufacturer, and soon developed a reputation for spinning superfine cotton yarns made exclusively from selected, long-staple cotton grown in India, Egypt and America. The company also produces linen/cotton and silk/cotton blended fabrics. VTX produces Eco – Friendly and Organic Cotton products with natural dyes.
The limited public company expanded into sophisticated weaving, finishing and sewing, focusing on home fashions. Today, VTX generates annual sales of more than US$ 30 million on its finished home textiles, including sheets, pillows, shams, duvet covers, quilts, matelassé coverlets, blankets and throws.
Approximately 90 percent of VTX products are exported; its major markets include the U.S., U.K., Europe, New Zealand and Australia. The company targets the mid- to high-end markets, selling luxury lines of fashion and basic bedding to selective retail customers. VTX has showrooms at 230 Fifth Avenue - New York and Acton in London. VTX is a vertically integrated company with a complete range of modern machinery and more than 2,900 employees. In spinning, the company's 50,000 spindles produce 1,260 tons of yarn every year. Weaving equipments range from basic shuttleless looms to sophisticated electronically controlled jacquard looms. VTX owns a complete range of customized sewing machines that produce high-quality finished products at affordable prices. Many of the company's bed linens are embellished with fancy embroidery, pin-tucking, pleating, crochet and decorative quilting using state-of-the-art German and Belgian machinery. VTX factories produce 2.8 million units annually, and the company has currently invested to double its capacity in all the supply chains to address its marketing needs.
VTX has its own in-house design studio that produces innovative designs catering to the needs of specific customers, and believes in providing a "one-stop shop" for the bed room.
